Dr. Kaitlyn Kolzow is a compassionate and detail-oriented provider with a goal-based approach to eye care.
Dr. Kolzow has extensive training in ocular disease and contact lenses. She has worked at the Veteran’s Hospital in Lyons and East Orange as well as several private optometry practices. Dr. Kolzow participated in a primary care and ocular disease residency at an ophthalmology practice in Bloomfield, honing her diagnostic skills and learning to fit speciality contact lenses.
Helping patients experience the greatest quality of life is Dr. Kolzow’s passion. She’s an active member of the American Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry, and the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians. She believes in staying up-to-date with technological and medical advancements, and using this knowledge to provide her patients with the highest standard of care.
She studied Neuroscience and Philosophy at the University of Scranton for her bachelor’s degrees. While there she was a member of two honor societies and conducted research on the effects of oxidative stress on the retina. During her junior year she found her passion for working with people with visual impairments when both of her grandfather’s began to lose their sight to age related macular degeneration and glaucoma. This sparked her interest to learn more and she decided to attend the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she received her doctorate degree with honors from the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society.
In her free time, Dr. Kolzow enjoys going on hikes with her husband and their two rescued dogs, and actively roots for the Green Bay Packers football team in New York Giants territory which is a dangerous endeavor. She is also an avid reader and enjoys writing academic articles to share her optometric learnings with other professionals..
